“Shine” is a book Kurt Johannessen produced in 2006. The book is filled with a collection of portraits printed in blank varnish. The pages seem empty, but when one lets the light shine on them, the face shines. In the new series “The translucent 1-4” is a bit of the same theme, while time is more present. The four portraits are family photos / childhood from the 1940s, slightly printed on glass. A time that’s gone, but something is still here.
