Photogravure is a print technique where a photographic material is etched into a copper plate and printed in an intaglio press.

The course will go through various paths to digital positive. We will talk about pigment paper. What is it? Where can one buy it? Can you make it yourself? We sensitize. We go through various ways of making the pigment paper sensitive to UV light.

Lighting/exposure. What do you need? Etching in ferric chloride. We learn why it can be important to know Baumé. We prepare the copper plate for printing. How do we print a photogravure? Can it be done in different ways? Different types of paper and color.

We will go through this and much more during a 5-day course. The course is aimed both at beginners and those who have made the occasional photogravure before, but want to refresh the knowledge.
