«Area X (a pictorial tale)»
During the past few years, Håkon Holm-Olsen has slowly but surely been building an imagery with its own internal logic, taking shape as drawings, collage, books, objects, and now also printmaking.
Together, these works form a fictional reality, a bit like our own, but also a bit different, a parallel world where the boundaries between utopia and dystopia, past and future, facts and fiction can sometimes be unclear.
The inspiration comes from many places; science-fiction, mythology, computer games, art history, comic books and popular science. Amongst other things.
Each of his exhibitions can be seen as a new chapter in an ongoing pictorial narrative. Self contained, but also part of a larger whole.
Håkon Holm-Olsen (b.1982) graduated from KhiB in 2012. Lives and works in Bergen.
The exhibition at Trykkeriet will present new work, etchings in both small and large formats.
