Trykkeriet is proud to announce KMD graduate @hanlmcd as the recipient of the Trykkeriet MA Award 2025.
The award honors a graduating student whose practice demonstrates a particular strong approach to printmaking. Trykkeriet offers the opportunity to further develop their work within a professional print studio environment, a solo show in ROM 2, artist fee, documentation and technical assistance from the staff.
Hannah McDonald’s body of works show a distinctive and thoughtful engagement with the printmaking medium. Her approaches to the print is not simply as a reproduced image, but as a trace of gesture and action – a record of the printmaking process itself. Through a focus of markmaking and repetion, McDonald creates structures that allow for intuitive exploration between techniques such as drypoint, etching, silkscreen and monotypes by seeking new ways to combine and extend their possibilities. Each piece functions as a puzzle element within her broader installation art practice.
We look forward to following Hannah’s continued artistic journey and welcoming her to Trykkeriet next year.
