Every cut with the knife is a cut to the innermost bone marrow. The tree is probably the body itself
(Rudolf Adrian Dietrich)

Woodcut is one of the oldest graphic printing techniques for images and was a very well used art form and reproduction technique in medieval and early modern Europe. As a modern art expression, woodcuts became common in the early 20th century.

The course runs over two days and consists of drawing and transfer techniques. Carving of wooden boards is done using wood carving tools. The plates are printed as relief prints with oil-based inks.

All course material is included and you do not need any prior printmaking knowledge to participate.

The course will go over two days starting Sept 21st and with the final day on Sept 28th.
